The Role: Do you light up at the chance to inspire wonder, creativity and growth in children aged 2-5? As a Pre-school Assistant, you’ll work alongside our dedicated team to create a safe, joyful and stimulating environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and delivering play-based learning activities
  • Support social, emotional and cognitive development through imaginative engagement
  • Build trusting relationships with children, parents and staff
  • Observe and celebrate each child’s progress
  • Uphold safeguarding and wellbeing practices.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Level 3 Qualification (childcare experience is a bonus, but not essential!) If you have a Level 3 in another field but are eager to pivot to early years education, we’d love to hear from you
  • A genuine love for children and their development
  • Creativity, patience and adaptability in a dynamic setting
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Desirable:

  • Willingness to pursue training in childcare (opportunities available in the new year!)
  • Experience in early years education or community focussed roles.

Contract: Full time, term time only (39 weeks), Part time, 18.75  per week 

Salary: Cornwall Council Green Book Band 1 £23,656-£25,771 FTE pro rata

The Role: Do you believe every child deserves the chance to succeed, regardless of their challenges? We’re seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide tailored SEND support in the classroom, helping pupils access learning, build skills, and thrive socially and academically.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work 1:1 or with small groups of KS2 pupils with SEND, adapting activities to meet individual needs.  
  • Support the class teacher in delivering inclusive, engaging lessons.  
  • Foster independence, resilience, and self-esteem in children.  
  • Assist with sensory needs where required (training provided).  
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and parents to implement Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).  
  • Create a calm, supportive environment that promotes wellbeing and progress.  

 What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Enthusiasm and empathy for working with children with SEND.
  • Patience, adaptability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.  
  • Strong communication skills to build rapport with pupils, staff, and families.  
  • Willingness to learn – training opportunities available.

Desirable:

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) – not essential. 
  • Experience supporting children with SEND in a school or community setting.  
  • Understanding of strategies for autism and sensory processing.

  • Assist with sensory needs where required (training provided). 
  • Work 1:1 or with small groups of KS2 pupils with SEND, when required - though this is not the focus of the role.  
  • Create a calm, supportive environment that promotes wellbeing and progress.  

 What We’re Looking For
