D&T at Trekenner
At Trekenner, we aim to develop creative, resourceful, and practical learners who can design and make purposeful products that solve real-world problems. Our Design and Technology curriculum encourages innovation, critical thinking, and resilience, ensuring that all pupils:
- Learn to design, make, and evaluate products using a range of materials, tools, and techniques.
- Develop technical knowledge and practical skills in areas such as structures, mechanisms, textiles, food, and electronics.
- Understand the design process—from identifying a need and generating ideas to testing, refining, and evaluating outcomes.
- Apply principles of nutrition and learn how to cook, promoting healthy lifestyle choices.
- Explore the impact of design and technology on daily life and the wider world, past, present, and future.
Through hands-on, cross-curricular projects, we empower every child at Trekenner to become confident problem-solvers, imaginative designers, and thoughtful makers, ready to shape the world around them.
