Coronavirus

As you will be aware, there is currently extensive media coverage of the Coronavirus/Covid19 virus.  I hope the following information will help answer any questions you may have and allay any concerns.

To support the delay of the spread of the virus, if anyone in your household displays any symptoms then the whole household are to stay at home for 14 days.  This is self-isolation.

The symptoms are:
  • a high temperature (37.8 degrees and above)
  • a new continuous cough
You do not need to call NHS 111 to stay at home.  If your symptoms worsen during your stay at home period or are no better after 7 days contact NHS online .  If you have no internet access you should call NHS 111.  For a medical emergency dial 999.

Within school, we are following the Public Health England hygiene advice.  All children have been taught our hand washing song (see below) to ensure they wash their hands with warm soapy water for at least 20 seconds.

We are continually monitoring the guidance and will update all Parents and Carers of our students through our website should there be any changes to the published advice.  The DfE are emailing us daily with information and we are also following the latest updates from Cornwall County Council.  If you have any queries, please don't hesitate to contact David Reardon.  Alternatively you can phone the DfE hotline (details below).  This link from the BBC also explains the key information in a clear way.

As always, children are at the heart of every decision we make and we will do all we can to ensure their wellbeing.
