Religious Education

RE at Trekenner

At Trekenner, we aim to provide a rich and inclusive Religious Education curriculum that encourages pupils to explore, understand, and respect a diversity of beliefs, values, and worldviews. Rooted in the unique cultural and spiritual heritage of Cornwall, our RE curriculum helps pupils make sense of their own identity and the wider world.

We ensure that all pupils:

  • Learn about Christianity and other principal religions and worldviews represented locally, nationally, and globally.
  • Explore the distinctive religious and cultural traditions of Cornwall, including the influence of Celtic Christianity and Cornish saints.
  • Develop curiosity, empathy, and critical thinking by asking meaningful questions about life, belief, ethics, and human experience.
  • Reflect on their own beliefs and values while learning to appreciate and respect those of others.
  • Understand the role of religion and belief in shaping communities, history, and contemporary society.

Through thoughtful, balanced, and enquiry-based learning, we empower every child at Trekenner to develop a well-informed, respectful, and open-minded worldview, preparing them to live and thrive in a diverse and ever-changing world.
