Dear Parents and Carers

I am sending one last letter to say goodbye to everyone having decided to retire after 17 wonderful years at this historic community primary school. It has been an amazing privilege to teach, work with, support and learn from an amazing school community.

With the help of many passionate and committed people both within the school and beyond, the school has continued to provide children with a wonderfully unique learning experience, central to the Parish of Lezant and beyond. I have been blessed with a brilliant team of people; laughing, sharing, supporting, encouraging and understanding, in equal measure.

I would like to say a massive thank you to all the staff and governors I have had the pleasure of working alongside over the past 17 years - people who have worked so hard to do their very best for children who are so precious.  I have had the great fortune of being supported by so many warm and wonderful parents over these years. I will miss you all.

To the children of Trekenner School, past and present, you will all hold a very special place in my heart and I will continue to smile and glow with pride as I hear about you reaching milestones and achieving your dreams.

I’d like to take the opportunity to thank the immeasurably brilliant contribution s of Lisa Sheppard, Liz Davies  and Julie Lambert. They are also leaving  to new pastures after similarly lengthy, selfless and dedicated service to the school. I wish the new head teacher, Marc Wheeler, the best of fortune in taking the baton, on through this new decade. I know that the school will continue to flourish in the future under Marc’s leadership.

Finally, I wish you and your children all the very best for a bright, safe and happy future and look forward to bumping into you again someday soon!

Stay safe and happy!

David Reardon
