Our Community

We are an LA [Cornwall Council] maintained school and work closely with our 'feeder' secondary schools, Launceston and Callington Colleges to ensure Trekenner pupils are fully prepared for the next stage of their learning journeys.

Most of the pupils' families live in Lezant Parish, a community of scattered villages, hamlets and farmsteads bordered five miles from Launceston, the ancient capital of Cornwall. We also have a significant number of families who travel from Launceston and Callington each day to take advantage of our small classes, family atmosphere and teaching that makes the most of our fantastic setting, to enable great academic achievement alongside strong personal development.

Our community is important to us and we maintain a strong bond between the school and the local villages and towns and with our partner school - South Petherwin, as the Launceston Rural Learning Trust.
